The Dolinki (valleys) Reglowe (Olczyska, Strazyska, Za Bramka, Malej Laki) are very inviting places for romantic walks and easy hikes. More experienced hikers can choose one of the 275 km of marked tourist trails in the Tatra National Park. One can also consider planning the trekking tour between the mountain shelters but it is necessary to booked your beds in the shelters in advance.
In the Chocholowska Valley and Kościeliska Valley (on the picture above), an alternative to walking is a ride in a horse-drawn carriage. In the first valley, the carriage can give you a lift to the very entrance of the mountain shelter Chocholowska, while in the Koscieliska Valley horses can't ride further than to Polana Pisana, which is situated 30 minutes walk from the mountain shelter Ornak.
Zakopane has some great ideas for those who are looking for something more exhilarating. Quad-Bike rides and expeditions (on the picture above) through the Podhale forests and fields will certainly be unforgettable. The more ecological but still excited option is a mountain bike downhill ride from the top of Guablowka Hill to the centre of Zakopane. But the most challenging of the extremal activities available in summer in Zakopane is the climbing in the High Tatras.
When planning a summer vacation in Zakopane, it is worth paying attention to the wide range of bus tours. The most popular are day trips to the Rafting down the Dunajec River, to Slovakia, to Krakow and the Wieliczka salt mine and to the Auschwitz museum in Oswiecim. Strama Company also offers 24-hour and weekend guided bus tours to Budapest, Vienna, Bratislava, Prague, Lviv.
For the less active (lazy?) Tourists visiting Zakopane, I recommend two attractions that are available throughout the year - a cable car ride to the Mt. Kasprowy Wierch and a relaxing visit in one of the thermal baths near Zakopane. I would like to remind you that tickets for the cable car can (should) be bought in advance online to avoid several hours of waiting in the queue to the ticket office.Barbara / discoverZakopane.com
Beautiful hotel, fantastic SPA, extraordinary breakfast. The location is quiet but very close walking to Krupowki Promenade and the main attractions of Zakopane. For kids hotel Aries offers two playrooms and playground in the garden. In a distance of 400m is the Kids Park Janosika - the biggest playroom in Zakopane.
Very friendly hotel located on the border of the Tatra National Park and only 10-15 minutes walk from the Krupowki Promenade. A great place for mountain hiking and walking in the woods fans.
