Podhale, the region surrounding Zakopane, is rich in hot thermal waters. As a result, many nearby towns boast thermal baths, which are popular tourist attractions year-round. Most tours organized from Krakow include a relaxing visit to the thermal baths at the end of a stay in Zakopane.

HUSKY SLEIGH RIDES

Husky Rides are a great option for dog lovers. During the event, you can learn many interesting facts about the original dog breeds of the North: Alaskan Malamute, Siberian Husky, and Samoyed. And you don't have to worry about the dogs – if they don't have the strength or the courage, they simply won't pull the sled.

From the summit of Kasprowy Wierch, breathtaking views of the Polish and Slovak Tatra Mountains, as well as Zakopane, unfold. Advanced skiers and snowboarders will find two ski runs there, considered among the best in Poland. Please note that there is no beginner's slope or sledding trail on Kasprowy Wierch.

ZAKOPANE CITY WALKS

My favorite walking routes.

Zakopane is a relatively small town – its width and length as the crow flies are approximately 10 km. However, the difference in elevation between the center and the highest districts – Gubałówka, Kuźnice, and Cyrhla – is over 300 m. Therefore, almost all walks in Zakopane involve walking uphill and downhill :)

SLEDGING

Sled riding in Zakopane and the area

Zakopane has several designated (and paid) sledding and snow tubing trails. On Górna Równia Krupowa, in the very center of Zakopane, city workers are preparing a special hill so that younger children can enjoy sledding and sliding. Plastic slides can be purchased in souvenir shops for a few euros.

Snowlandia - snow maze, ice castle, sled hill

For over 10 years, a huge snow maze has been built in Zakopane, beneath the Wielka Krokiew ski jump, a favorite among children and adults alike. In addition to the maze, sledding trails and igloos with ice sculptures are also being prepared.
