Where can we buy tickets for the Kasprowy Wierch car?

1. on-line - www.sklep.pkl.pl - in my opinion this is the best option for the foreign tourists
2. at the ticket office in the lower cable car station in Kuźnice. Important! Tickets are sold only for current rides - you cannot buy here a ticket for a later time or the next day!
3. at the ticket office of the upper cable car station on Kasprowy Wierch (only tickets for the cable car ride down to Kuznice)
4. at the customer service office in the building of the lower station of the Gubalowka funicular
5. at ticket machines (biletomat) located in the center of Zakopane
6. at the customer service office in the building next to the lower cable car station to Kasprowy Wierch - these tickets (EXPRESS TOURPASSES) are the most expensive and their number is limited.

How to get to the Kasprowy Wierch cable car station in Kuznice?

The road between the Jana Pawla II roundabout and Kuznice is closed to car traffic. Only city buses, minibuses and taxis can get there. The walk from the roundabout to the cable car station in Kuźnice takes at least 30 minutes (2 km uphill). The cheapest way is to travel by bus - a ticket currently costs PLN 6-8 (August 2026). The most convenient way is to order a taxi directly from the hotel.

When buying a round-trip ticket (tourpass), can I choose the time of departure from Kasprowy Wierch?

Unfortunately not. The return time from Kasprowy Wierch is entered on the tickets automatically and only at this time you are guaranteed entry to the cable car without waiting. The stay on Kasprowy Wierch is 1 hour and 40 minutes. If you want to take the cable car down from Kasprowy Wierch earlier or later than the time indicated on your ticket, you will have to wait in the queue to get off.

How long does the cable car ride from Kuźnice to Kasprowy Wierch take?

The trip by cable car to the top of Kasprowy Wierch takes about 20 minutes (with a change at the intermediate station Myslenickie Turnie).

To stand in line to the tickets office or not to stand?

If after reaching Kuźnice (cable car station) it turns out that the waiting time at the ticket office will exceed two hours, I advise you to skip the cable car journey and either hike to Kasprowy Wierch or take an easy hike to Kalatówki or the Olczyska Valley (the trails start in Kuźnice).

Yes, the price of the cable car ticket to Kasprowy Wierch includes entry to the Tatra National Park, so on the same day as you take the cable car to Kasprowy Wierch, you can also go for a walk in the Tatra National Park, without purchasing a new ticket.

Are there any ski slopes for beginners on Kasprowy Wierch?

There are no beginner trails on Kasprowy Wierch, nor is there a sledding hill. Both ski trails, on Gasienicowa and Goryczkowa, are quite difficult – marked in red, they sometimes turn black in bad weather (ice, fog).

Can I take a small dog on the cable car to Kasprowy Wierch?

Unfortunately not. The final station of the cable car at Kasprowy Wierch is located in the Tatra National Park, where no animals are allowed. The only exception is guide dogs accompanying blind tourists.
