CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING in Zakopane

Cross-country skiing trails of the COS (Central Sports Center) are primarily intended for professional athletes, therefore you should ask the staff if and when you can practice xc-skiing there.

Cross-country skiing trails Bialy Potok are located on the glades on the right from the Wielka Krokiew ski jumping hill. The route runs towards the Strążyska Valley. It is various track, with a few steep downhill slopes and a nice view of the famous Giewont. Depending on snow conditions, the loop has from 2 to 5 km. Access to the trails: next to Snowlandia park or next to Zohylina restaurant.

Cross-country skiing trail Rowien Krupowa is an ideal route for beginners, located in the very center of Zakopane (100m from Krupowki St.) in the Rowien Krupowa park. The route is artificially snowed and illuminated, nearly flat and very easy. Access to the trail: from Kosciuszki Street, from Aleje 3 Maja St., from Sienkiewicza St.

A wide walking path with a beautiful view of the Tatra Mountains. This is not a rial cross-country trail, but a nice place for a leisurely cross-country skiing walk. Access to the trail: from Antalowka St.

Two beautiful cross-country ski runs - 5 km for intermediate skiers and 2 km for beginners. The routes are beautifully situated on the edge of the village and near the border of the Tatra National Park and offer a lovely view of the Mt. Giewont. Access to the trails and parking are: Koscielisko Chotarz, Nedzy Kubinca 295 St.

Cross-country skiing trails (3 km) of the Biathlon are primarily intended for professional athletes, therefore you should ask the staff if and when you can practice xc-skiing there Access to the trails: Koscielisko Gron 11 St.

A morning cross-country skiing walks through the empty Koscieliska or Chocholowska Valley is a great pleasure. Note please that there are no prepared tracks for the cross-country skiers so the best equipment for these walks are metal-edged touring skis. Especially when the snow is icy. After the snowfall when the snow is soft and nice you can go there on the typical cross-country skis. Just be careful on the way back for there are several narrow downhills runs with trees on both sides of the road. And try to go there as early morning as possible to avoid the crowds.
